A new glitch discovered in Breath of the Wild allows players to instantly obtain 999 Korok Seeds, but it isn't easy to pull off. Here are the details.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is over five years old at this point, but players are still finding new and interesting ways to play it, particularly since the game's sequel is continually getting delayed. It just goes to show how deeply beloved the title is, that people are still spending hours with the mini-games or seeking out the story's optimal route.
Recently, a YouTube channel called Gaming Reinvented posted about a glitch found in Breath of the Wild that allowed players to start the game with the Bow of Light, the game's most powerful weapon. That same channel, using many of the same methods as the Bow of Light trick, has shown off a new glitch that allows players to start with 999 Korok Seeds right from the beginning of the game.

The Korok Seed glitch is quite complicated to set up. To begin with, players will need to have a late-game save file on Master Mode with some Shock Arrows and about six Lynel Bows. Next, start a brand-new game on Normal Mode, and head straight to a small pond near the Temple of Time. Pick up the Woodcutter's Axe nearby, equip it, and save the game. Then, retrieve a nearby Korok Seed by diving into the middle of a ring of lily pads in the pond, wait for the game to autosave, and then exit out to the Title Screen.
Next, load up the Master Mode save file. Take out a Lynel Bow, aim a Shock Arrow, then open the menu and drop the bow. Equip the next Lynel Bow and repeat. Eventually, Link becomes mostly invisible on the menu screen. Now switch over to the Materials section of the inventory and have Link hold two different items. Then run to a shop and sell all remaining duplicates of those items. Finally, open the Materials inventory once again, grab another random item, and drop it on the ground.

Return to the Title Screen again and load the new save file that was created right after getting the Axe. Unequip the Axe and then reload the save. Now the Axe should be missing from Link's weapon inventory menu, but scroll right, and a new, secondary weapon list will appear, where players can unequip the Axe again. Reload the save once more.
There should now be two Woodcutter's Axes found in that secondary glitched Weapons list. Unequip the Axe one final time and load the autosave from right after getting a Korok Seed. Don't touch any menu buttons here -- just run around to make the game autosave again. Afterward, reload the Axe save file three more times, then load that new autosave. If everything has gone correctly, the 999 Korok Seeds will appear in the player's inventory.

With the 999 Korok Seeds, players can now get the maximum amount of inventory expansion as soon as it becomes available -- much earlier than most casual players would. There is some concern among fans that using this glitch can cheapen or ruin the experience of the game. However, given the fact that one key aspect of recreating this glitch involves a save file with high-level equipment, such as Shock Arrows and Lynel Bows, most, if not all players who use this glitch will have already completed the game at least once.
As such, this glitch is really a "second playthrough" sort of thing, wherein players have already gone through the normal experience of the game and now want something a little more easygoing without having to bother with Koroks. Alternatively, it can be used by players who want to speedrun the game to see how quickly they can defeat Calamity Ganon.
